Re: [haflingerfriends] Re: Skin issue question

Does ACV effect their tooth enamel at all? I was on a health kick where I had some every day and I ended up making my teeth sensitive from it and my dentist said that it eats at the enamel which is why my teeth were so sensitive. I was wondering if the same thing happened with the horses.

Yes, 1/2 cup once a day. I feel alfalfa pellets with flax and vitamins, so I have something to mix it in. I started slow, with just a "splash" in their goodies for a few days, then 1/4 cup for a few days, then a full 1/2 cup. They all eat it readily. It also helps water consumption, as all of the horses hit the water hard after they eat. It helps keep flies away (some); it keeps thrush and rain rot at bay as well.

I buy the cheap $3.75 a gallon ACV from WalMart. Works like a charm!

I know, as far as humans go, that ACV is really good for lots of nutritional- type stuff, stands to reason, then, that it could be very good for horses, too! Thanks!!!
