(Yes, I think I will take advantage of the offer, I love medieval stuff, dressed Mitch up in barding last Halloween for our barn costume party)
Yes! Mitch is eating slower! I put him back yesterday at 5 PM, he started eating, I went to dinner, and at 10 pm on my way home, I happened to be going back towards the barn, and went in really quietly just to check on him. And he had a half-full hay net and was still going at it even though all the other horses had long since finished dinner. Sometimes he doesn't have hay left after I get to the barn around 2:30/3 PM, but he usually has some. We did have to start giving him a total of 3 flakes of orchard twice a day because once he figured out how to get the hay out (he gets a nice-sized wisp of hay out, but only a mouthful at a time) two flakes wasn't quite enough for him. But it's working out great for him. He's doing so well with his behavior, walks quietly, he doesn't try and yank me off my feet anymore to get to grass because he was hungry.
It's called the Freedom Feeder with 1.5 inch holes. The woman who keeps her POA next to Mitch is getting one too, she's been amazed how he's still eating long after everyone else has finished.
