That's fantastic. I can hardly imagine the guts it takes for all of you who live in the snow to get out there and ride. Bravo!
I see you use the same hackamore I used on my shetland pony thirty years ago. (Can it really have been that long?) Troubles (the pony) went along with it like he did everything else I put on him through. LOL I'm pleased to see the hackamore is still in demand. It strikes me as being very humane.

Subject: [haflingerfriends] The best feeling
I mentioned a little while ago that I have been 'ground bound' I've gone through a stage of not being able to get up there and ride, started off with just a 'glitch' in my wiring I think, then got compounded by pressures of work here.
Now the thaw seems to be coming, and we will be living in a sea of mud for a few weeks, so I thought I really had to get over this, like NOW, so yesterday having hitched up my big girls panties, and grabbed Jim to come and help me, I decided that it was time to ride Alto.
I worked him in the pen for a while to get him loosened up, then got Jim to com ein to hold him for me. His mares took that moment to decide to notice that their handsome man was missing and start to run around the paddock screamimg, Jim was suggesting postponing operations for a while, Me, with BGP hitched firmly in place went NO WAY, we are doing this now.
So on I popped, and Alto, like the star he is, kind of looked around and went "what are you doing up there?" so we sat for a minute and chatted, then we walked around for a while, did some turns, some flexes and some back ups, walked round a little more, then hopped off and called it a job well done.
I felt like a million dollars, got to build on that good start, but looking forward to doing more :) And what would a story be without photographic evidence.... ......... ..so here you are, just bear in mind that my face didn't seem to get the message about the million dollar feeling!
