Oh yes, please do make a saddle pad and make sure to take pictures... horse sewing is pretty much the only type I feel inspired to do right now... I have a hard time sitting at the sewing machine too long without wanting to get up and do something. I admire those who can stick through the big quilting projects though! An English fitted saddle pad is not as easy as one would think... ask me how I know! I have a pretty big stash of fabrics for more, but until I get faster at it, I am putting that off for now. I figure by the time I get to it, my fabrics will be considered "vintage" LOL!

I left Thursday morning around 8:00 a.m. after feeding Scharly breakfast and telling her again I'd be back in a few Aleave with my girlfriend and all our machines and fabric and stuff filling the car to to brim. As I drove past the barn, window down, I call out to her again saying "I'lllll beee baaaccck!"
> I went to a lake near Yosemite, Cal. with about 45 other gals (ages ranging from the 20's to the late 80's) all sewing away. Snow had come and it was just beautiful. I had to share photo's of my girl - Scharly as she is so close to my heart (ok, loved). At one point I'm thinking it's time to make her a quilted saddle pad with my project.
> Saturday night and this morning, I found myself seeing Scharly and I conversing as I told her I'm coming home. Well, was I ever surprised(and so was my girlfriend as she isn't horsey)!! When I drove through our farm gate, Scharly was at the far side of her corral. Her head jerked up, and she cantered to the gate talking to me. Shaking that mane, and I drive on to let Diana get her car, but with the window down I tell Schar. I'll be right downn.
> Eli and I went back down and when I turned her out in her field, she cantered circles around me. Up and down the hill, bucking, more circles around me. Eli said, "I think she missed you. She never acted like this around me. She just ate and stood around." Oh yeah, made me feel good - She was saying I knew you'd be back. I kept waiting. Yahoo!!! What a great way to be greeted that for sure. Can't wait to ride her tomorrow!!
