Re: [haflingerfriends] Re: First 2010 Foal at Rivervalley is tragic...

My life is very dull compared to yours, Dawn. I can't wait to get up
there so I, too, can have as much fun as you do. :-)

Little does she know that I almost called her when my gelding had himself
complete wrapped in fence wire. Thank heavens this lil guy came from
Dawn's Ranch, he never panicked! I maintained composure, which doesn't happen,
especially when it involves one of the horses. I just kept saying, "what
would Dawn do." I cut the fence wire. LOL Gelding walked over to the hay
pile and assumed the Haflinger position-eating, as if nothing had ever
happened. These horses are just incredible!

Hang in there my friend, tomorrows a new day. Stay inside, under the
covers, do not open the door, do not talk on the phone!

Hugs!
Sandy

All I pay my psychiatrist is the cost of feed and hay, and he'll listen to
me all day. -- Unknown

So I had today all planned...going to take the filly (it was a girl) up to
another place that we moved cattle out of due to a large pack of wolves
that killed 10 head of calves up there and drop her off, then come home, clean
the truck bed out, feed, and then fix fence and go to town for to run
something it there. Anyway....it is now almost 3 pm and I just got back from
unloading the filly. I drove up there a bit later as the wind was blowing and
I couldn't see earlier. So, I get up there, driving out across the pasture
and viola, I am stuck! I mess around and sort of get unstuck but not for
long. Stuck even moreso now. Buried my pickup, axels and all as I broke
through layers of snow and ice. Finally I was really stuck! Called "granpa"
(not my granpa but thats what we call him) to come save me. OK, he's in town,
but finally gets out there, and I tell him don't come over here or you'll
get stuck. What happens...he gets stuck too! As bad as me. So I shovel, and
shove l and an hour later I am still shoveling and finally I get his truck
shoveled out from the bottom! He can now move about 8 inches thats it. So,
we get out the chains and chain him up. After some time- he gets unstuck. I
however am still stuck...so he finally gets backed up to me and we get
some baling twine and he after a few attempts and I shovel somemore...gets me
unstuck! Great. Now I head to town.... look down and my ABS light is on.
Wonderful! Get to town, do my little chore there...come home and
decide...yup.So I had today all planned...going to take the filly (it was a girl) up tSo

can be hard to understand for after all we are just humans!

right there to help Folly. Sounds like she appreciated your help when you
stitched her up. Angels come in many forms don't they?
