Sarah and I usually keep our eyes peeled for some kind of event near the other's birthday. Last year she took me to the Tiffany, Lalique,Fabrege exhibit and this year I took her to the Cartier exhibit. The Tut exhibit is still at the deYoung Museum in G>G>Park. What is better than looking at fabulous jewels? We have also gone to tea at special places with a view to just catch up. There are lots of great Broadway shows playing in San Francisco that you could catch a matinee. Don't really know anything closer to you.
