I have two heated water buckets, one in Camryns stall, the other much larger in the barn aisle for her when turned out. She's a very big drinker, much more so than my TWH was. She also has access to free choice minerals which she really enjoys. She's a bit of a wood chewer and I'm hoping the minerals will help keep that to a minimum.
Lots of poop in her stall this morning, appears to be rebounding nicely. Have to say, I was praying as I walked back to the barn this morning and envisioning her perky face looking over the stall wall. Thank God that's what I found :)
Vet called this morning to report on the fecal she took to examine. Seems that while her former owner "said" she was on a regular worming schedule she has quite a heavy load!!! I'm to wait till late Sun. to worm,just in case it upsets her tummy so we don't have a weekend ER moment with her er. We'll do another fecal in two weeks, and worm her again in a month. I'd actually already picked up some wormer and fortunatly the kind she wants me to use first go round, as I'd planned to do it this weekend. I wanted to give her some time to settle in before doing so.
Doc also wants me to change from Triple Crown Lite to Purina Enriched 12 and feed Ms.Chub as if she were an 800 lb horse. She said since my hay is very good, that's all she'll need.
