[haflingerfriends] Re: World Haflinger Federation breed standard minimum height raised

And you are just finding this out now?! I thought you were a director at large and you don't even know the updates from the WHF? I can understand some people being upset because they think their haflingers are going to be forgotten but quite frankly, like jaque said, the US doesn't operate on this system, and from what i come to understand the AHR doesn't follow the WHF standards for the most part anyway. It does surprise me that you are SO upset over 2 cm difference and everyone is acting like we are now just changing the haflinger's personality. Its the same horse, just a little taller. No one said it's still not a haflinger. It has honestly irked me that you are setting a double standard. You will sit there (the AHR) and do NOTHING to stop a man from cross breeding the wonderful Haflinger and this time with the intent in CHANGING the breed and try to take the haflinger name and promote them as such, but you'll be so quick to jump all of the WHF for a simple height change. Honestly from what i've learned and expereinced with the AHR i back the WHF way more. At least they are willing to do something for the breed. you said "especially at a time when Haflingers and Haflinger
breeders need support, not a slap in the face " but honestly that's just what you did to everyone about those whole spotted things. You drove people away. Why take a horse that'll soon be worth nothing when i can take a colored horse, one that'll sell just because it looks pretty. I love my haflingers to death, don't get me wrong I am not saying that we should breed the haflinger to be a huge thin boned riding horse. But if you are going to say that they don't know what people who love their haflinger's feel/think, then i think you need to step back and look at yourself and the situations that you've brought about.
