[haflingerfriends] Horse Olympics/Dressage

I was browsing stuff online and came across this article on the Olympics.

"Concerns for the welfare of dressage horses. Interesting. I watched the video and do not know enough about dressage, but it does seem to me the horse is being worked with lack of oxygen due to compression of the trachea and quite possibly nerve and blood flow compromised. It is so behind the bit and not allowed free flowing relaxed movement. Since someone made the point to video this, there must be a concern????
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/jan/03/olympics-row-over-horse-cruelty In the fourth paragraph you can click to the video."

Can someone who does dressage, explain this to me?

Thanks,
