[haflingerfriends] Haflingers vs Fjords

I don't know much about the Fjords, but have a friend who raised them and they are similar in size but I think overall the Haflinger is a little prettier. Not all of them but they have a more pleasing face in general, in my opinion. The manes and tails on Haflingers are definitely more striking. I didn't care much for my friends horses, they weren't near as friendly as a Haflinger. But, we hadn't discover Haflingers when I was around the Fjords.

When we bought our first Haflinger from Ohio the hauler made a comment on how nice our mare was and how quiet she and the baby were. He mentioned that he had hauled a number of Fjords and the Haflingers appeared more willing and easier to deal with.

Good luck with your hunt for the perfect horse. If you get the "right Haflinger" for you, you won't be disappointed. They are very in your pocket type horses and want to see what's happening all the time.
