what she could rectally, tubed her with mineral oil/water and soapy water. She said I got her so early she couldn't give a definite prognosis as she hadn't distended and if there is a blockage, it hadn't had time to back up. She said calling was the right thing to do as Haflinger in general are so stoic that Camyrn had to be in severe pain, & had no gut sounds so it was definitly colic. Could be simply caused from so many changes occuring in her life with the move and all. While I weaned her from her original feed, my hay is richer than what she's used to. Could be blockage. She said if Camryn was perky this afternoon after the meds had worn off, that we were good. If she begin showing signs of pain again, it's doesn't look good. I hung out at the barn after, groomed her, mucked her stall, paddock, the entire time Camryn followed me like a pup. Kind of like when my kids were little, had been sick, were feeling better but bored and
needed my company.
Camyrn was good as gold for me and the Vet. I'd have to say she most definitly knew we were helping her even when being tubed. Vet told me since I can watch her from the house to just leave her out where she can move about rather than stalling her. Let her have water but, no food till late afternoon when I see she's OK. Prayers for my girl, I've only known her two weeks, but I love her.
