lol Stacey!

My big question is this (and I am pretty ignorant about breeding and such):

Why have a standard? Isn't the intent of a standard to protect the breed from morphing into something very different than it's ancestors? This begs the question: Why have a standard if it's going to keep changing? That makes a standard NOT STANDARD, by default, doesn't it?

Emily, I am with you 100%. Where will this end, when we have TB haffies? I don't understand the constant changes in the standard. And I believe I read in a post last month that they don't want to let us import their "new" elite horses. So lets kick em to the curb:-). I am going to have to go out into the night now and tell Moyra she is no longer a haflinger. I hope she takes it well. lol.
