Subject: [haflingerfriends] Re: Probiotics?
A good internet article on this is:
http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/horse-health/2005/January/29/Veterinary-Topics-Pros-and-cons-of-probiotics.aspx
I use Probios. This product contains Lactobacillus plantarum, Enterococcus faecium, Lactobacillus casei, and Lactobacillus acidophilus. I found that it is very helpful for my senior horses. My 32 yo mare was on it and my 29 yo gelding is on it now. It helped them process feed better and helped put weight on them. It costs about $10.00 a month per horse.
Hope that helps,
Robbin
