Jennifer, How exciting to hear Babe's family is so well thought of. His grand-daddy is Westwynd and his great-grandma is Schikka. I smile when I re-read that your M&B is a "well-balanced and amazing moving" haflinger because Babe is still trimming down from months of "vacation" and is quite the chunk. When we lunge him or he frisks in his paddock, he's like a fast moving tank -- head somewhat down and forward, "Look out. Move aside." (I was pleased at his movement in the ring yesterday at which time he seemed lighter on his feet due to our regular exercise and the accompanying weight loss)
I'm enjoying the differences between our two haflingers. Babe, described above, is dark with a creamy mane and sale. Ameristar (aka "Toby) is fair with a white mane and tail. Babe's profile is rectangular; Toby's is square. Babe's eyes are full of misleading concern (he's not); Toby's are pure sweetness. Babe is a clown; Toby is an angelic innocent.

We have a M&B Haflinger and he is the most well-balanced and amazing moving horse I have ever been around. I would LOVE to find another one like him.. for I am now driving pairs and my other guys do not move anything like him. He was out of Westwynd M&B and Shikka and was from the original M&B Farm that is no longer. He has NO WHITE on his face or legs.. and is a light colored gold with a white underbelly.
