Yes and No. If my old horse would be paying more attention to imaginary goblins, I'd ask him to do something such as flex, stop or something to bring him back to me mentaly/emotionaly then click when he did as requested. I wouldn't click till he showed he was back by doing what I'd ask. Otherwise I'd be rewarding him for the wrong behavior. 9 times out of 10 once he tuned into the fact that we were about to play he'd come back to me. I've used it alot to train dogs for agility and the breed ring, it seems horses catch on much quicker.
