Subject: [haflingerfriends] Broken Elbow Update
Saw a specialist today. the break is not as severe as the Emergency Room made it out to be. My hand is freed up to write and I can take the cast off to shower. The cast will be on for 4 weeks or so.
Reflections on walking in the woods with my horse - I think I will add a helmet and a good pair of gloves to my list of safety devices. However, we'll be in the paddock for awhile working on ground manners.
I appreciate all of your suggestions whether they were softly spoken or outspoken. When working with horses, there is no room for injuries. I'm just glad it wasn't my head.
One more thing - I'm fed up with non-animal lovers - whose reaction to my injury were statements like "well I guess that animal's horse meat."
My husband retort, "hell no - she's a horse and things like that can happen." I was so proud of him!
