years of organizing the Lynden Haflinger event (I think six in all). The
problem was, while I was watching Kelsy and Arron or Chesna and Pip doing
their brilliant demos, I'd be so awash in emotion, I'd get a little froggy,
and be dabbing my eyes so much I couldn't read the script!
I had the privilege of riding Arron on a trail ride (and into the river!) on
a trip to Nayborly Farm a couple years back. He took care of me the whole
time (as my regular riding days are way in the past) and I felt so honored
to be able to experience the world from his back. Part of the miracle was
that I knew Arron way back in his youth at M&B Farms in Vernon, B.C. where
he was considered "too hot" for the young equestrian students to ride, so
would only be ridden by the main instructors/trainers Stefan and Andrea
Bundschuh. Once he came to live with Kelsy, I learned that he has "on/off"
buttons that can only be pushed by those who know how. While I was riding
him, I didn't know how to find those buttons, so that was a perfect quiet
and calm ride for me!
