As you may know, we are in deep snow here in eastern WV. We got the horses in the barn, but the gates to all the paddocks are so deep in snow we cant open them or close them. So we turned the big horses loose in the barn-yard area. so yesterday, the 2 mammoth donkeys and Wings were at the driveway gate and we went over to pet them. Liska was off somewhere. My daughter went up to put the arabian away (we were leaving everyone else loose at night now) so the three at the gate start walking up the drive, which had been plowed . there is a drop-off on one side and big snowbanks on both sides. although it was plowed it still had a good thick layer of packed snow and ice. so the three are walking towards the barn, uphill on the drive. and Liska suddenly comes flying at full tilt down the driveway towards the others. Im thinking shes gonna slip and crash into them all.. so at the last second she LEAPS to the left.. now she is a short fat tank of a mare.. but she CLEARED the whole snowbank and the drop off, lands at the bottom, throws a buck, spins and runs back up and leaps the snowbank from the downhill side, and takes off bucking.. she always amazes me at the shear strength she can display at times!
