I took the advice of someone here at Haflinger Friends and bought some Simple Green. We used it on Babe's and Toby's tails yesterday and I was quite impressed. Both were figity about having their tails wet and heavy so it was hard to do a thorough job, but I'm optimistic about the future of their tails with this product. :)
Also, I poured some apple cider vinegar in Babe's water trough, as recommended by a Haflinger friend. Is it my imagination that he drank more?
Yesterday, we led Babe and Toby across the street the big community arena which is mostly dry. The boys have been neighbors for two weeks now and I was eager to see how they'd get along when mixed. They were terrific! They each took a couple of playful bucks at one another but nothing aggressive. They spent the rest of the time running, trotting together and/or eating side by side. When we were done, I had two slightly sweaty and very calm and peaceful Haflingers. :)
