as for breeding ALL my mares which are a whoping 2 mares, I will be breeding to gypsies this year, that is for my own working horses not for selling and making another 'breed'. I am by no means a haflinger 'breeder' YET. I only have two mares and a stallion and am just starting out. Unless you have a butt load of money to start out as a breeder right away with a huge herd, it takes years to become and established breeder as you keep putting it. I don't really consider myself a 'breeder' yet. But a future breeder yes. Just because I breed my mares to something other than a haflinger this year doesn't mean I can't breed them to my haflinger stallion next year. Did you not read that long post I wrote to you before Kiola explaining why I am doing what I am doing to clarify any misunderstandings? the one you never responded to?
Yes this post was not an attack towards me. I didn't see it that way. But re-read that one post you wrote to me about 'promoting grade horses NOT the haflinger, only promoting myself as a trainer...'...it was pretty snobby. at least that is how it came out to be...if you still don't understand then as I had emailed you privatly my phone number call me so we can talk and not read words, as they can be misleading also. You can't really put too much feeling into words UNLESS YOU MAKE THEM CAPS AND IT IS LIKE YELLING! hehehe.

> Just to clarify, (and this is NOT an attack, this is pointing out undisputed facts.) Jennifer you have already stated that you are breeding all of your Haflingers to Gypsy horses this year. Just because a person is breeding all of their Haflingers, that does not make them a Haflinger breeder. You may be enjoying your shorter Haffies, and in fact your videos show that - but by outcrossing the breed you are producing a different breed altogether. You are not promoting the Haflinger breed by doing so, but rather you are showing that the breed needs to be changed. This is my observation and opinion. Should you dispute what I have just said, please do so here. This is not personal at all, but rather my own need to try and understand where you are coming from. I believe there are many others reading this who too are trying to understand.

The WHA is the Western Haflinger Association, and they are not a purebred organization for breeders, they are a Haflinger enthusiast group here in the Western United States of America.

The people I got my stallion from have been breeding for over 25 years and all their haffy's are pretty much 14hh and under. Since I am now starting my breeding program I plan to keep my haffy's on the shorter side. So do not fret, there are still people who will say screw the WHA with the changing the standards of the haffy when so many were attracted to the breed for stockiness, sturdiness, shortness, temperment, gourgous, what have you and keep breeding our short little draft horses. :)
