[haflingerfriends] Re: Marlene and Charley

Geri, I admire you so much! Marlene, I can so relate to you and your situation with Charley. Calvin and I had such a rough start and I'm no spring chicken. I have thought about selling him at times, but I just can't do it, not now anyway. He's actually helping me step up and learn some things about myself that need a little work, for sure. I don't think he knows that, though. I do believe that these young horses deserve a chance no matter what we end up doing. Calvin had no training on him when I got him when he was 4, and he deserved that, no matter what happened to me. He was scared and was reacting out of instinct since he had no training. So now, 5 years later, he's had lots of training and so have I. We hit some gliches in the road, but most times, we have great rides together.
Good luck, Marlene, and Charley, and keep us posted on your progress!

Geri, I hope you can find someone to help you get your horses ridden.
