This is just my opinion, so please no-one be offended. I feel that a lot of people get a mare and stallion and think wow, let's make a lot of money. And the market gets flooded with back yard breeders who do not take in the whole picture, (confirmation, temperment, and demand) to name a few. Jennifer you are promoting the breed and are really out there showing people what they can do, so I am sure that you will do great! But here in quarter horse country, (Iowa) I see it all the time, quarter horse foals taken to the sale barn and sold for 15.00 to 50.00 dollars. Just because you can make foals doesn't always mean you should. I would not have bred the two mares I own, I purchased them this fall and they were already bred. And unless they have exceptional foals and to tell you the truth, I am not qualified to tell if they are, I would not breed them again. And if they did have great colts, I do not personally need more, so would only breed with a foal contract.
If I post photo's of my foals, God willing everything goes ok, will you all give me honest opinions? :-). Retired military, so you really can't hurt my feelings. lol.
Anyway just my own thoughts, good, bad, or otherwise.
