[haflingerfriends] Re: cinch/girth size/type question

I got permission from my barn owners to use this one:

I've long since wanted to put a slow feeder into Mitch's paddock to try and let him munch on his grass hay as long as he can, which can be hard in a boarding situation because they're only fed twice a day.

I like the Nibble Net and the Busy Horse hay bags, but while they look easy to fill, it's still too much work for a feeder person because they'd have to take the bag out, put the hay in, put the bag back in the paddock, etc. etc. So I went to talk to my barn owners, and the Freedom Feeder was the one they liked based off these two pictures:

I'll be ordering it soon, and will set it up the same way so all the feeders have to do is just drop it in through the open side.

Makes her work a bit wouldn't you say?

I would be concerned about the extra weight on your mare and what that is doing to her joints, back, etc. Using the small mesh hay nets and the Control feeder (http://www.warmspri ngsproducts. com/)
