At 10 am I was watching her out the kitchen window while I made some toast and noticed her twitching her tail a lot. It's winter, so no flies which had me stopping to watch further. Whithin minutes I saw her pawing the air, shaking her head, putting her lip up, looking at her belly, and kicking at it. Then she laid down got up, laid down. Never having seen a colic I knew the signs. Called my neighbor who was telling me what to do before deciding to call the Vet. As I bundled up to go down to Camryn, I told her I'd call her back I was calling the Vet now. Good timing as the Vet was just pulling out of the clinic and they caught her and rerouted her to my place. Otherwise she'd have been a few hours from us. Doc got here in 15 minutes. Pulled out

She said I got her so early she couldn't give a definite prognosis as she hadn't distended and if there is a blockage, it hadn't had time to back up. She said calling was the right thing to do as Haflinger in general are so stoic that Camyrn had to be in severe pain, & had no gut sounds so it was definitly colic. Could be simply caused from so many changes occuring in her life with the move and all. While I weaned her from her original feed, my hay is richer than what she's used to. Could be blockage. She said if Camryn was perky this afternoon after the meds had worn off, that we were good. If she begin showing signs of pain again, it's doesn't look good. I hung out at the barn after, groomed her, mucked her stall, paddock, the entire time Camryn followed me like a pup. Kind of like when my kids were little, had been sick, were feeling better but bored and

Vet told me since I can watch her from the house to just leave her out where she can move about rather than stalling her. Let her have water but, no food till late afternoon when I see she's OK. Prayers for my girl, I've only known her two weeks, but I love her.
