[haflingerfriends] lunch with Scharly

I've got to tell you, I was hanging out down in the barn with Scharly yesterday. She was finishing her lunch and I gave her the herb mixture I make her. I just turned a bucket upside down, covered it with a towel, sat on it while leaning against the hay and started unraveling some knitting I'd been working on. Scharly was standing as close as she could to me so I took off my boots and put my socked feet up on the welded wire panels that line her pipe corral stall. Scharly then used my socked toes to scratch her face, her eye, around her ears and under her jaw line. I just kept unraveling away as my "just a horse" closed her eyes and took a nap while resting her chin on my feet. Can you see the picture? Pure bliss for both of us. Oh yeah, those are good moments. Wish I had this on film.
So this morning when I fed Scharly, it started pouring rain again. As I left (for my breakfast), she came out into the rain and talked to me, asking me not to leave. That she wanted company. I did tell her I'd be back later to visit with my knitting. :o)
