And where would one "follow the inspections" if these people were not personal friends? Was input asked in any AHR publication? Did you tell us? Did any of our regional people tell us this was in the works? I have no idea of the rational behind such a change other than the Austrians have been breeding for height for 5 years and now want to create a market for those. This has wrecked almost all the dog breeds I have been involved with. Just for an example, compare the size of a racing greyhound with the size of show greyhounds...obviously the function of racing has kept these dogs much smaller than the virtual short haired wolfhounds that are shown as greyhounds now. , the bone of European Dalmations vs the spotted Hackneys, the substance of working Dobermans vs the Hackney show Dobermans.... There is a point to substance when it comes to a function. To just say that Americans do whatever we want and are not concerned with the good of the breed
worldwide seems a bit dismissive.
If you could, would you please list where Americans were informed prior to vote that the height standard would be changed? I think the highhandedness is more on the part of the Austrians and if we see that is damaging to the functions we want from the Haflingers we have lived with and used then, maybe it is time to break from the World Association.
