Club is 3 hours away from here, which I figured would be true. We are
pretty rural here, and although there are a lot of horse owners, there
aren't any specialized organization, groups or clubs. We all seem to talk
about it but nothing ever gets going.

There is an international organzation of Pony Club. It's a wonderful
organization. Here is the home page for US. http://www.ponyclub.org/
They can connect you with regional and area groups. Maybe even help you
locate an upper level member that would be of great help. :o)
