I used straw bedding for my first horse because I thought that's what everyone did. Well, MAYbe 50 years ago they all did! All I knew was from reading about horses. Poor Lark! She got the brunt of all my mistakes! OMGosh, they were a pita to clean. As soon as I found out about shavings, I switched. But none of my horses have ever eaten their bedding so I never looked farther.
