[haflingerfriends] Re: The great horse property search

Wow...these posts make me want to cry. Just so heartfelt and so full of well wishes. You guys have no idea what it means to us. Last year we lost my mom and dad...very difficult year for us as they were both very sick. Both my mom and dad were a HUGE part of our lives and our daughter's lives. We feel so very blessed to have had them and blessed that they are no longer suffering. Yet, I feel my mom pushing us to do something different. They were both adventurers in their heyday.

We have one daughter in Montana (she's an ecologist working for Yellowstone) and one in PA who will likely follow us where ever we may land.

Things we love about Connecticut- the New England snowy winters (when it does snow and doesn't turn to ice!), the quaint red barns, and in some areas, the picturesque beauty. Things we don't like so much; the traffic, the sprawl from New York City, the traffic, the suburbs, and did I mention the traffic? If I have to spend one more year in the suburbs I think I'll disappear to nothing.

My dream? A farmhouse, a barn, and lots of field for the ponies to run in. Being near other horse folk is a must, as is solitude.

<sigh> Can we find it?
