I would ask this supplier to be more specific on what is in the grain hay. I know down here, forage hay has a mix of oat, wheat and barley, grain hays that mature at different rates. He needs to be more specific. I certainly can not feed Scharly forage hay. 1st, she's allergic to the oats and wheat, and 2nd, it's got to many carbs for my air fern. I don't work her enough. Ask him if they've done a hay analysis on it, so you can see how much sugar is in it.
Maybe someone else has more information. I'm feeding timothy(I know it's exspensive, but she's doing well on it).
