are brave (although a bit pushy at times), alert (they can spot a hunter in
camouflage from quite a distance), playful (they will take your hat and
run with it, showing no remorse), demanding (they will whack the stall door
if you even look at another horse), easily spoiled (they can hear a
peppermint wrapper from 20 yards), faithful (as long as you have the food) and
last, but not least...they are stars (you can almost see the pride in them when
they win a ribbon or trophy for you...they actually shamelessly flaunt
their good looks, charm and personality)!
I've been under their spell for 22 years now and I have 11 Haflingers
(Yikes!). You will also learn a lot from this list and make lots of new
friends. Welcome!

Jannus is a 9 year old gelding, born in the NL and came over to the UK
in 2007. He lived on a farm in Wales for 2 yers, mostly as a pet, with
very little work to do. Now he is being asked to remember his manners
on a daily basis. Luckily he is fairly biddable and doesn't seem to
mind this too much. I am looking forward to furthering his education
(and mine).
Hoping to receive lots of tips off this site, though I may come unstuck
on some of the terminology!o
