So excited I will finally get to meet you. I have corresponded with you about some of the vehicles you have had for sale ;-). Please come and introduce yourself when you get to the LA Equestrian Center. We would need help before Equestfest in doing all the decorating for the show. Lots of ribbons and bows. We also have a booth that we are to man to tell people about Haflingers and answer their questions if you want to take a turn in that.
Like everything in the Rose Parade there is lots of paperwork...and the paperwork for decorating for the actual flower application for the parade was due 6 weeks ago . At every event of the Parade, except Equestfest ,you need a name tag, wrist band and pass. But that will save you from having to camp out on a freeway from midnight till they stage us into the parade...and lets all pray that California warms up and stay dry for those days ;-).
Another place that we would appreciate help is at the end of the parade when we go to the dispursing location and have to quickly unhitch and load the animals, vehicles and be out in a short period of time. I can give you that location if you are interested in that at the Equestrian Center.
One of the things I am looking forward to is the people on this and other Haflinger lists that say they are coming. It will be nice to put a face to a name.
Right now we are going over all the things we need to pack and getting other things out of the way as we will be gone for a week for this event. Next week I take my gelding to the trainer so my husband does not need to care for him while I am gone. It is nerve wracking to think we will need to take EVERYTHING with us. For instance at the Equestrian center they do not have grass hay so we need to pack that all the way down there. With the long journey and all the changes I don't want to risk colic by changing feed. I am also taking things like tubes of probios and the paste that encourages them to drink water. Any other suggestions for things to take?
