Re: [haflingerfriends] Best of haflingerfriends....

Oh man!!!! What EVER happened to Jeremy??!! He quit posting soon after I joined (wasn't ME, was it :-0??). I remember being a little shocked and/or confused the first couple of times I read one of his posts but I quickly came to scan for him in my message box. What a hoot!! If anyone knows him or has any contact with him, please tell him he is missed and that I feel bad for chasing him away...hahaha!

I was going back through old posts, still looking for some of my favorites. Besides the ones I already posted, there are so many. Gale & our bit discussions, which is what finally led me to a bit that worked great for Toby, Karen & the M&M boys and all of their stories, Kiola and her wonderful information. The list could go on. But I stumbled over this gem. One of Jeremy's posts. LOL - I'm still chuckling over it. I really miss his humor.

Aaaah gentle ladies...How can a boy keep a straight face.

Kathy says: ³My fiance would like to try riding... He is worried about
his ...um.. private parts... he thinks they will be hurt...²

Ha!

First, this question only arises because the male in question is a FIANCE as
oppose to a husband. Kathy, he is lying. He has no interest whatsoever in
horses. Trust me: he thinks they are stupid, expensive, smelly, and
(secretly) he is afraid they may bite him.

What is going on here is that he is trying to accomplish the two things that
every ³regular² guy attempts to accomplish with every female. First, by
showing an interest in you and your activities he is doing what we guys call
³buttering you up². Second, and most important, he is (successfully)
attempting to move your attention away from the stupid smelly horses to,
shall we say, his true area of interest.

Of course, he didn¹t think you would post a question on the internet about
this. No indeedy. What he really hoped you would do is say something like
³Ooooo baby you are so sweet to think of little me and my silly horses. But
I don¹t think you should ride. Remember, most guys don¹t have to worry
about getting hurt because they aren¹t built like you sweetie...Grrrrrr But
now you¹ve made me all hot thinking about you ... Ooooh, quick, right now,
be my big Dog...(moan) etc. etc.²

Seriously though, 99% of the time there is not a problem because, well,
because the geography is such that there isn¹t unless one is sitting in an
odd position. I believe some guys who are doing a lot of jumping wear a cup
because one is more likely to come down hard in the saddle and be out of
position.

Having said that, if one is off balance and in the right position and the
horse makes a sudden move it is possible to get a good wallop. And it hurts.
