[haflingerfriends] Re: genetics

No matter what generation I am I was not "born" with the knowledge I have to this point. I have spent my fair share of time reading, attending clinics, seminars, meeting with people, pestering folks on the phone, via email, and in person and much much time just watching and absorbing to gain the knowledge I have. I know this was not an intentential slap, but I thought I would clarify anyway! Yes, I had some horses set in my lap for starters, but as many folks know, I have bought, bred and re-bought horses to compliment my wishes for haflingers. I have, throughout all this, always kept my eyes and ears open for suggestions. I learned from my parents and Walt for sure, but it was my desire to learn, not the fact that I was born with it, that has led my way and continues to do so.
Those that know me know I love to learn about horses and am a firm believer you can never know too much about equines especially!
So, no, I may not flaunt around as being a big breeder with lots of money, but I am not some backyard pasture breeder just breeding for the heck of it either.
Just so you might understand, I bet Jennifer could verify that I even had her help me in my quest for a new filly here this spring. And I have on numerous occasions asted her for help, as well as others. I appreciate everyone that has helped me and I hope you all realize that the only way to learn is by sticking your neck out there sometimes and asking. No shame in that!
Ok- off to beddy now. I did not take this as personal as my reply might sound, but there is no other way of putting it right now.

I am enjoying this tremendously and I hope the rest of you are too. Victoria
