[haflingerfriends] newly arrived Haffies

Lene,
I do not think you will have any issues with a "pushy" Haflinger because you already have horses now. Some of the new Haflinger owners have not ever had their own horse or not for a long time. They have forgotten that new horses will test to see who is alpha. Haflingers will test because they are a very intelligent breed and if there is no herd leader they will move to that spot. Haflingers really commit their whole being to the owner if they are fair about the horses' treatment, but take about 2-3 months to give their hearts. I can tell you that many of our owners have had many different breeds and state they never would go back to the other breeds after having a Haflinger...intelligence, beauty and ...well all I can describe it as is they give you a snuggy feeling when you are with them.
