I'm a relatively new Hafflinger owner, altho an old (OLD!) horse owner/rider, and I've lurked on this list for awhile.
I own a sweet, draft-type (I gather) Haffie mare, Amish bred out of the Afghan line, who suits me down to the ground, and I wouldn't change a thing about her--nor do I plan to ever breed her.
But for my intellectual edification, what exactly are the current 'breeding fads' mentioned on the genetics thread? Is there some unwritten but duel breed standard out there?
