I don't braid his mane because I don't know how. I know how to braid his tail now because I watched that handy video that someone here on Haflinger Friends hooked us into; but, the bags?, I don't know how to use those. How do they stay up on the tail? It seems like they would slide off which I know they don't.
I used to have a mane tamer...long story.
You know what we did today? Covered the middle rail with duct tape. That should work for the time being.
Thank you for your suggestions,
Marilyn in Sacramento where it's just beginning to rain (I'm glad we were able to squeeze in a ride today!)

Do you braid his mane at all Marilyn? I braid all of my horses manes and their tails are kept in tail bags which keeps them white in winter and nice and long and clean just year round. and Braiding the manes seem to help with any sort of breakage.
Also I used to use a mane tamer i got from Country supply.com or something like that which worked well with Rosie when I had her in pipecorral at one point. maybe that'll help
Jennifer in cali
