We did not put a saddle on her as she is ribby and looks like she needs a layer of fat all over (she looked bigger in the videos). The seller had lost his job over a year ago and had stopped feeding grain in the winter as well. Also, they had switched from square to round bales. This lack of quality feed shows. She looks wormy too.
She was buddy sour to the horse she was with and refused to go anywhere alone. I put her alone in an adjoining paddock where she can talk over the fence. Also she was never in a stall, and now she is, which leaves her alone at night. She seems to appreciate the stall. I am giving her a double handful of pellets, as she has not been getting grain.
I am thinking I need to worm asap, then build up to giving her sugar beet pulp, bran and ? (what) somekind of weight gain feed. Afraid to give sweet feed as she is already hyper. I would also like to get suggestions for a really good vitamin and mineral supplement. Feet are all different sizes too!Help, annie
