[haflingerfriends] Re: Haflinger characteristics

LOL... I just have to reply to this one.
Yes, my Haflingers do have deeper "voices", but the pony I have who has the deepest throatiest voice is my very mellow 10 hand shetland/mini pony mare. If one were to hear her without seeing, she sounds as if she is a great big draft. Low and rumbling...
Our Haflinger gelding can get the highest note if he squeals and is displeased when participating in pasture play that does not go his way. He sounds like a girlie-mare... and not even like my Haflinger mare. Nightingale does not hit the high notes like he does.
I don't know what determines a voice... our very high strung Hackney pony Miss Patsy had a really high pitched whinny.
