I sold black Abetta saddle #2 to a super nice gal. Guess what she wanted it for? Her haflinger mare! Small world.
So we're talking and it turns out she's used the breeder/trainer who had Toby and his mama shipped out here from Ohio. Smaller still.
Then it turns out the gal who sold Toby to me for the breeder is my saddle buyer's good friend. And THEN she recalls that this friend brought a haflinger with her one day last summer for a brief visit. It turns out that that haffie was my Toby.
We had such a good time talking and sharing stories. I just love these little serendipitous meetings.
Back at the stable, the regulars all arrived at about the same time to clean up our messy paddocks after the storm/s. I haven't been out for five days but Toby's paddock wasn't too bad. Just two wheel barrows worth. I took one; my daughter, Katie, took the other. The rest was spread out too thinly for us to even consider removing.
Thank goodness T's paddock is on an incline and drains very well. He had some dry-ish ground to roll on today.
