[haflingerfriends] Re: Tom Thumb Bits

Just checking to make sure we're talking about the broken mouth w/ shanks Tom Thumb (apparently there's a British kind, and a Australian kind too, and they're more English style.)

I rode Mitch in a snaffle the first year I got him, fresh off a Tom Thumb. Full cheek snaffle with a french link mouth. Only a few months ago, I finally had to switch him to a medium port grazing curb when riding him outside the arena -- he didn't like a kimberwick. I still use a snaffle to do ring work though. Only reason why he gets a curb for trails is because he's got a thick strong neck, and I needed the leverage and control to keep his head off the ground.

If your kimberwick is working, why not stick with it?
