So just to clarify on the comment below, If you do not have registration papers then you shouldn't call your horse a Haflinger. But since I love haflingers I should be "should still feel an allegiance to the mission of the registry, and support it with their dues dollars."
Sorry but that really doesn't make me feel like I want to join the registry.
For whatever reason I have been hearing more and more negative comments about the AHR. There is no easy answer. But if something doesn't change things will only get worse. The current board needs to find a way to pull everyone toghether.
I will toss out one idea about the magazine. What about having each issue focas on one disapline. For example 6 issues how about 1 ea on draft, pleasure driving, western, english, dressage and a stallion issue. Wouldn't people be more inclined to advertise is the issue that best showcases the "type" they market. At the beginning of the year schedule each issue and assign someone to be in charge of getting all the articles for that issue to Ruth.
I do hope things move in a positive direction. I love my guys even if one technically isn't a Haflinger. Just promise me you won't tell him cause as far as he is concerned he is the "best haflinger" in NW Ohio. <smile>
