RE: [haflingerfriends] Re: A fun challenge!

Molly
I have on the road for the last week and I have been trying to read all the post.I agree with you.It all depends what you want to do with your horses.I have been at a number of fairs locally this past year.At one the judge was partial to the newer thin line we did OK at the other two they were drafts show and we did great. He got best of breed.First in Halter and first in log pull.So depends what you want to do with them.

Kiola, was that clarification for me or for someone that's looking for a fight? ;-) I agree with you! Middle of the road is best and I think that's what I'm gathering from most of the posters here. That said, my dear little 13.1HH Moxie, who is probably close to that...WIDE, lol, is PERFECT in my eyes and she's perfect for what I need. I think that's what it boils down to at the end of the day. What do you want and need in your Haflinger? There are certainly variations out there so that we can all find the perfect Haffie for us! :-)

As a side note: I have given up on my recent aquisition, the Standardbred. She's not being very kind to my pony! I am now looking for another perfect Haflinger, but aren't they all perfect? :-)

Molly in Ohio who's loving the constant dripping of the melting snow....YAY!!!

Molly, I think you are 100% right!!! That is why I am hoping people will do it to see that we really are not that far apart when it comes to what our Haflingers look like.
I think we all love the very same breed of horse!
I don't know that I do believe it has to be one or the other. Middle of the road is good!

BTW:
"Classic" to me is middle of the road. It is what Haflingers should be, and are according to breed standards.
