I've stayed out of this thread because I have no "dog in this hunt"!
But I think I would have found it more than a little INSENSITIVE if anyone had used a picture of my own beloved gelding along with his name to illustrate their personal dislikes.
While pictures are fine to illustrate a personal preference, naming the equines takes the illustration outside the realm of considerateness for owners.
Even the gentle comment of, "he/she would look better with a few less pounds" has in the past seriously offended people on this list who've ASKED for an opinion about their beloved Haflinger's weight.
Lest we forget:.... many breeder's farms financially support this list which so many 'freely' enjoy! Is it advantageous to bite (or insult) the hand that feeds you?
Yes, I've had my gelding insulted and I think less of the woman for it. I've noticed she buys cheap, mixed breeds because "ALL horses can benefit from dressage training". Judy in NE TN
