[haflingerfriends] Re: Something on a different note

Hey Marlene,
I have one of those exercise balls, and used it during my pregnancy for my back. Worked awesome! I ended up having better abs AFTER JD was born than before! It was amazing. I need to find that darn thing and start again! :) And, it didn't hurt my back.
I just started trying Yoga. Anyone else? It is quite interesting, I for sure have the curtains pulled while I am trying to do it and I would in no way try it in a group! I tell you, it is a LOT harder than I thought it would be, but fun too.

I bought one of those big tough exercise balls and am using it to sit on at the house when I watch TV or use the internet (like now.) Doing some hip swivels and a bit of bouncing on it here and there should help with balance, and use some of the same muscles used in riding. I have the worst problem with being too stiff and my hips don't follow the movement of the horse well. It certainly can't hurt....but my kids did tease me about keeping the curtains closed so the neighbors don't see me bouncing around.....LOL. My trainer is ill and had to cancel my lesson this week, so I hope he'll see a difference in balance next week. I'm getting anxious to move from his wonderful lesson horse to my own horse. Meanwhile, I have found a really sweet girl (18) to ride Charlie for me to keep him in shape, and give her a horse fix. She's very experienced, and Charlie liked her right off, which means everything to me. Well.........gotta roll........
