[haflingerfriends] Re: Early foals

OMG 15 below!! this reminds me why I live in california. lol. Unless your in the mountians here you get nice weather...been in the mid 70's for 2 weeks now. I've always foaled my mares outside in pasture. But I breed them purposely in may/june so i have spring foals.

When I did work at the TB farm and foaled out their mares in the barns they would use three bales of straw for foaling. course the coldest it would get here at night would be 26 maybe at night...and the barn was always toasty. not sure what you could do in weather that cold!! Good luck.
