[haflingerfriends] Re: Bridlepath

Hey Jen,

I have 3 haflinger mares and a coming 3yr old stallion ( you can see his pictures in the folder labled 'Newsmongers Cadillac PPRH) and I don't cut any of their bridle paths. Yes it makes it easier to bridle and such with a bridle path but...Because I braid all my horses manes, it lays down the hair where the bridle path is and it keeps it down and nice and tidy and great looking. My stud boy has a double mane and He came to me as a yearling with a freshly cut bridle path which I have let grow out the last 2 years.

Now my mustang I cut his bridle path, he has a 3ft mane and it is very thick, but he sports the 'clean look' pretty well. but a haffy is meant to have hair in my eyes so cutting it is a sin! LOL. I cherish my haffy's hair why would I want to cut it off? lol.

So that is what I do with my four.

Where the storms have hit, and we have had good solid rain for 5 hours now, with 6 days to go..whoohoo. I hate feeding in the rain messing with tarps and then the muddy horses. uggg. can't wait for summer...love my rainless summers. at least I don't have to worry about the hay getting wet:)

My hubby wants to cut a small bridle path on our new gelding & I don't want to mar his beautiful double mane. Am I just being silly? What do others on this group do?
