I have a tiny helmet for my two year old granddaughter. We have a wee little 10 hand pony that she rides too. So fun! The brand of her helmet is Del Mar. I bought it at a local tack shop, but I cannot find any online listings for it. But, I do see that Aegis has a toddler helmet now too.

Bike helmets and equestrian helmets are not the same. I will be honest and state that when my daughter started riding at 5 years old, I used a bike helmet a few times before I found a riding helmet for her. I would no longer do that though. You can read about riding safety helmet facts here:

LOL... even though Riley has her own pony here, she really, really wants to ride our Haflinger gelding Lucky. He is her "favorite", probably because he likes her and gets very excited when he sees her... she brings him handfuls of fresh grass. He thinks she is very nice.

Even though she doesn't do anything by herself with the pony, she still has slide off the pony before I could catch her. (pony had an itch and shook and off she slid) I would feel so much better with her in a helmet. I have looked a quite a few sites but her head measures 18 1/2 inches and I just can't find anything. I am starting to think a bike helmet will be better than nothing. Any thoughts/suggestions?
