We used to give electrolytes, but now add a bit of salt to their feed when water consumption decreases. Works like a charm and is inexpensive. You can get granulated white salt or mineralized salt at any feed store.

Note: We live in the desert, so this is only necessary in the winter, but I water in 8 gal containers so it is easy for me to guage how much water they are drinking..

...but does anyone out there know a way to get them to drink more of it?

I worry that not drinking enough can lead to colic and I was just wondering if anyone knew of anything we can add to water so it'll be tastier for them. Would a slice of lemon help? :)
