On the other hand, while that would protect her skin it could cause messiness of another kind. I don't know. I've never done this myself.
I'm not sure I understand the situation. Can you explain more?

Subject: [haflingerfriends] soiled tail/encrusted manure
My new mare Camryn came with not just a heavily soiled tail which I can deal with. Being as she's still getting used to me, (just came here Wed.) as much as I want to get it off, I hesitate to make our first few days painful. I'm afraid it has/will cause skin probs if I don't get it cleaned. Being it's winter I don't want to hose it.
Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated,
